Hello, my name is Cristina

About me
If you are reading these lines, it is because you would like to visit Mainz, a city with a rich history in the heart of Germany.
I am from Valladolid, Spain, although my own story could be seen as a product of globalisation: I was born in Canada and grew up in several Spanish cities. My studies in mechanical engineering took me to England, and since 2001 I have been living in Mainz.
Through this varied contact with different cities and people, I have developed a strong ability to adapt to new cultural challenges. Together with my curiosity and passion for history, this led me in 2015 to begin my career as a certified guide in the Golden City of the Rhine. I am currently a member of the Mainz Guides’ Association and the German National Guides’ Association (BVGD).
During my tours, my goal is to create memorable moments and make my guests feel at home. Each tour is adapted to the group’s interests, pace, and needs. Rather than simply listing dates and events, I invite visitors to observe the city, understand its traditions, and discover the customs that shape everyday life in Mainz. After all, I also arrived here as a foreigner, and I know how meaningful these discoveries can be.
Our own stories are shaped by the history around us. Learning about the past helps us understand the present and see a city with new eyes.
It would be a pleasure to welcome you to the city where I live and show you what makes it so special to me.
If you are looking for a different kind of tour, discover Mainz with me.
